Guyalna bogotana ( Distant, 1892a) View in CoL
Fidicina bogotana Distant 1892a: 58 View in CoL . (Bogotá, Colombia)
REMARKS. The species is very similar in general appearance to Dorisiana metcalfi in that it is a species with a greenish tawny head and thorax with ochraceous abdomen. However, the presence of a curved timbal cover with ventral margin parallel to the long body axis distinguishes it as a species of Guyalna rather than Dorisiana . The male abdominal tergites are translucent and body lengths range from 24–26 mm.
DISTRIBUTION. The species has been reported from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Peru ( Metcalf 1963a; Sanborn 2013; 2018b; Sanborn & Heath 2014) and the first record for Venezuela was recently provided ( Sanborn 2020a). Jacobi (1907; 1951) reported the species from Callanga and Pachitea in Peru. Pogue (1996) reported the species from Pakitza and Tambopata.
