D e s c r i p t i o n. Schizocarpic achene; flat proximal edge and rounded distal edge, 4.3 mm tall, 3.6 mm wide (excluding spines); six lateral spines on distal apical end measuring between 0.6 and 1.5 mm long.

R e m a r k s. Spiny achenes close in size and shape are found in Hydrocotyle L. ( Araliaceae JUSS. ) (e.g., H. scutellifera BENTH. ) ( Perkins 2019) and Apiaceae .
