G e n e r i c d i a g n o s i s. Winged structure circular with dark, thick striations radiating around obovate seed body, seed body with rugulate sculpture.

E t y m o l o g y. The genus is Greek for “variegated winged seed” with “ptero-” for “wing”, “-heterochros-” for “variegated” and “-sperma” for “seed.

R e m a r k s o n g e n u s. One species in newly erected genus, preserved on tan-gray paper-shale.
