Type Locality: "Zegi, Lake Tsana [Tana, Ethiopia] 4000 feet. [1219 m]" .
Vernacular Names: Ethiopian Hare.
Distribution: N and W Ethiopia, and adjacent SE Sudan, south to extreme NW Kenya.
Conservation: IUCN – Data Deficient.
Discussion: Subgenus Sabanalagus (Avarianov, 1998) . Formerly included in crawshayi (= victoriae = microtis ) by Gureev (1964:204), but Azzaroli-Puccetti (1987 a, b) maintained its specific identity. Its known distribution is largely allo- or parapatric to that of microtis ; may be a highland allospecies ( Flux and Angermann, 1990).
