Diagnosis: Narrow scutellum (almost invisible), prolonged head on the top of which there are prominent eyes, lack of wings, foliaceous apical segments of maxillary palpi.

Type genus: Ophiotettix Walker, 1871 View in CoL

Genera included and their distribution: Paraspartolus View in CoL (the Philippines), Ophiotettix View in CoL (New Guinea), and Spartolus View in CoL (the Philippines), from now on including Threciscus View in CoL syn. nov. of. Spartolus View in CoL .
