Type locality: Reserva Biologica Monteverde, Estación La Casona, 1520 m, Puntarenas Province, Costa Rica.

Distribution: Costa Rica: Alajuela, Cartago, Guanacaste, Puntarenas, and San José Provinces; Guatemala: Alta Verapaz, Baja Verapaz, and Guatemala Departments; Honduras: Cortés, Francisco Morazán, and Olancho Departments; Panama: Chiriquí Province.
