Generitype of Paederia Linnaeus , nom. cons.

Current name: Paederia foetida L. ( Rubiaceae ).

Note: Paederia Linnaeus , nom. cons. against Daun-contu Adans. and Hondbessen Adans.

Merrill (Interpret. Rumph. Herb. Amb.: 489. 1917) stated that the type is a specimen (but without specifying what that might be). Deb & Roy (in J. Econ. Taxon. Bot. 4: 748. 1983) indicated 580.12 LINN (which does not exist) as “type”. Puff’s therefore appears to be the first explicit type choice.
