Coecobrya ishikawai Zhang, Deharveng & Chen, 2009

Type locality. Saruta-Do, Kusaka Mura , Koti Pref., Japan.

Material examined. Four specimens on slides provided by Yoshii (# 7294, 7296). Deposited in CARC.

Additions to original description. Lateral process of labial palp as thick as normal chaetae, with tip beyond apex of labial papilla ( Fig. 61 View FIGURES 61 – 65 ). Labial chaetae as mrel1l2, all smooth; chaeta r 0.71–0.82 length of m ( Fig. 62 View FIGURES 61 – 65 ); chaetae X and X4 ciliate. Ungual paired inner teeth 0.30–0.36 from base; tenent hairs shorter than unguiculus ( Fig. 63 View FIGURES 61 – 65 ). Manubrial plaque with 2 pseudopores and 3 ciliate chaetae ( Fig. 64 View FIGURES 61 – 65 ). Distal smooth part of dens 0.80–0.83 times as long as mucro ( Fig. 65 View FIGURES 61 – 65 ). Th.II with 3 (m1, m2, m 2i) medio-medial, 2 (m4, m4p) medio-lateral, and 20–27 mac; p4 and p 4i as mac. Th.III with 18–22 central mac; 3 (m5, a6, a 6i) in Gr. III; Gr. IV not clearly seen. Abd.I with 5 (m2–4, m 2i, m4p) mac. Abd.II with 3 (m3, m3e, m3ep) central and 1 (m5) lateral mac. Abd.III with 1 (m3) central and 3 (am6, pm6, p6) lateral mac. Abd.IV with 5 (I, A5, A6, B5, M) central and 5 (F1, E2–4, E2p) lateral mac.

Ecology. Known only from caves.

Distribution. Japan.

Remarks. This species is most similar to C. akiyoshiana in most characters including tergal chaetotaxy, but can be distinguished by the short unguis and the absence of unpaired inner teeth on unguis in C. ishikawai . It is also similar to Korean species C. maritima Park, 2004 , but differs from the latter in the presence of “smooth” tibiotarsal inner chaetae and relatively long distal smooth part of dens in the latter.
