Distribution

Europe, north Asia (excluding China), Caucaso and North America ( Pace 2005, Majka and Klimaszewski 2012). In Italy, the species is widespread ( Ruffo and Stoch 2005).

Notes

Common in decaying plant material and also found on carrion and dung. It is found in the nest of several birds species ( Majka and Klimaszewski 2012).
