Note.
We disagree with Stemmerik’s (1964a) view on Pisonia lanceolata (Poir.) Choisy, which he considered a synonym of P. umbellifera . According to Friedmann (1986), P. lanceolata is a species with affinities to P. brunoniana , from which it can be distinguished by the pattern of incisions in the flower.
