Diagnosis. Scapus elongate, flared and curved; head with strong, keel-shaped occipital carina; a carina running dorsally and then posteriorly around eyes; frons, vertex, and often temple variously sculptured; antennal sockets weakly separated; malar suture present, but sometimes fine and incomplete; second subdiscal cell closed apically and distinctly before origin of m-cu; suture between second and third metasomal tergite absent or, if sometimes present, then only laterally; posterior margin of third tergite with distinct flange that is produced into semicircular lobes laterally.
