Diagnostic description. Male. Body ( Fig. 1A View FIGURE 1 ) dark reddish-brown, mouthparts and tarsi paler. Body length 1.55–1.61 mm. Head wider than long, length from anterior margin of clypeus to base 0.32–0.36 mm, width across eyes 0.38–0.41 mm. Each eye composed of about 20 facets. Length of eyes (0.15 mm) / length of tempora (0.07 mm) approximately 2.1:1. Length of antennae 0.81–0.83 mm; club ( Fig. 1B View FIGURE 1 ) formed by antennomeres 9–11; inner margin of antennomere 9 ( Fig. 1C View FIGURE 1 ) expanded, with semi-membranous apophysis at apex of expansion, and at approximately basal 1/3 of antennomere; antennomere 10 strongly transverse, obconical; antennomere 11 ( Fig. 1B View FIGURE 1 ) about 1.7 times as long as wide, with one apically concave basal protuberance covered with tuft of setae at apex ( Fig. 1D View FIGURE 1 ). Pronotum about as long as broad, length along midline 0.39–0.41 mm, maximum width 0.40–0.42 mm. Elytra slightly transverse, length along suture 0.52–0.56 mm, maximum width 0.60–0.63 mm.Abdomen widest at tergite 1 ( IV), and narrowing apically; mid-length of dorsally exposed part 0.38–0.42 mm, maximum width 0.53–0.56 mm. Length of aedeagus ( Fig. 1E View FIGURE 1 ) 0.17 mm; median lobe slightly asymmetric, with angularly protuberant apex.

Female. Body length 1.55–1.57 mm. Head wider than long, length from anterior margin of clypeus to base 0.32–0.33 mm, width across eyes 0.37–0.39 mm. Each eye composed of about 14 facets. Length of eyes (0.13 mm) / length of tempora (0.07 mm) approximately 1.9:1. Length of antennae 0.68–0.71 mm. Pronotum about as long as broad, length along midline 0.38–0.39 mm, maximum width 0.38–0.40 mm. Elytra slightly transverse, length along suture 0.47–0.50 mm, maximum width 0.55–0.56 mm. Abdomen widest at tergite 1 ( IV), and narrowing apically; mid-length of dorsally exposed part 0.40–0.51 mm, maximum width 0.52–0.56 mm.

Comparative notes. Sathytes communis shares with Sathytes longwangshanus Yin & Li a similar body size (1.55–1.61 mm vs. 1.54 mm), and a transverse antennomere 9 with the apophysis located at basal 1/3 ( Fig. 1C View FIGURE 1 ; Yin et al. 2012: fig. 7E). These two species can be readily separated by the single basal protuberance on the antennomere 11 in the new species, while there is one basal and one subbasal protuberance in S. longwangshanus . Distribution. China: Anhui, Zhejiang, Jiangxi. Etymology. The specific name indicates that it is a widely distributed species.
