Type species: Mucronia enigmatica sp. n.
Diagnosis of the genus. The genus belongs to the family Isotomidae as defined by the following characters: Body elongated with normal setal cover, scales absent. Prothorax without dorsal setae. Mid-dorsal length of abdominal segment 3 slightly longer (1.2) than segment 4. Trochanteral organ absent. The two single characters which separate the new genus from most other genera of the family are presence of a clearly lobed PAO ( Fig. 94 View FIGURES 93 – 109 ) and a mucro bearing more than one seta ( Fig. 102 View FIGURES 93 – 109 ).
