Distribution in the Arabian Peninsula: Kuwait ( Al-Houty 1989 as Gymnomenrus sp. and Gymnomens sp.).

Remarks: The genus is currently considered monotypic, its only species, G. laevipes (Shuckard, 1837) , occurring from Europe to Mongolia, including Turkey and Iran; its occurrence in Kuwait is thus not impossible, and it is therefore included in the counts.
