Distribution: Central American lowlands from easternmost Honduras through Panamá; in South America, N and W Colombia, including the Chocó (see Cadena et al., 1998), to SW Ecuador and NW Venezuela.

Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).

Discussion: Chromosomal complement described by Gardner and Patton (1976).
