Synonym: Typhlocypris (Typhlocypris) antilliana ( Broodbakker 1983d) Karanovic 2005 .

Type locality: well of Emile Magloire at Ti Mouillage, about 40–50 m from the littoral, Dépt. du Sud-Est, Haiti (18°14’01” N, 72°22’26” W) . Holotype (1♀)— ZMA, Ost. 150.588 , Paratypes — ZMA, Ost. 150.589 .

In Venezuela: at the following localities according to Broodbakker (1983d): FALCÓN State —S 1982/519, “Quevey” spring in the village of La Peña near San Luis, Sierra de San Luis (11°07’22” N, 69°45’07” W); S 1982/523, well dug on the banks of the Hueque River (mountain river), at the junction of the Cabure to Pueblo Nuevo Road, Sierra de San Luis (11°08’45” N, 69°31’26” W) .

Remarks: geographical distribution includes Aruba, Southern Florida, Mexico (Yucatan Peninsula) ( Furtos 1936a), Caribbean Islands, such as Jamaica, Cuba, Haiti, Puerto Rico (Vieques), British Virgin Islands ( Anegada, Dog Island), Antigua and Barbuda, Guadeloupe (La Désirade), Martinique, Barbados, Curaçao, and South America ( Venezuela) ( Broodbakker 1983d, 1984a). Karanovic (2005) proposes the combination Typhlocypris (Typhlocypris) antilliana . However, the genus Typhlocypris has been redefined based on morphological characters ( Namiotko et al. 2014), which validates the original assignment of Broodbakker (1983d).
