Synonyms: Cytheridea similis Brady 1869 View in CoL ( Cythere similis in the description of the plate); Cyprideis inermis Klie 1939 View in CoL .

Type locality: no details of the type locality. Part of the material is deposited in the ZMK, CR–92a .

In Venezuela: in the following localities according to Bold (1964) and USNM (2022): ARAGUA and CARABOBO States—no location details, Lago de Valencia (GN 10º10’46” N, 67º43’52” W). ANZOÁTEGUI State —1971/USNM 137711, 137712, 137713, no location details, Laguna de Unare (GN 10°05’23” N, 65°19’15” W).

Remarks: geographical distribution includes Brazil, the Caribbean Islands, and Venezuela ( Martens et al. 1998; Martens & Behen 1994). The material was recovered from recent sediments by Bold (1964). This author refers to the species both by its accepted nomenclature and by the synonym C. inermis Klie 1939 .
