Typus generis: Angustogryllacris bibulbata sp. nov.

Diagnosis. In general habitus the new genus resembles Aphanogryllacris but has strikingly narrow tegmina that do not overlap in midline ( Figs. 37 View FIGURE 37 A–C). Also venation of tegmen resembles that genus but is more strongly reduced due to the narrower wings. It differs from that genus by the specific armature of the male and female abdominal apices. The male eighth abdominal tergite is only little prolonged, the ninth abdominal tergite has the dorsal area flattened, unfurrowed and is gradually sloping posteriorly instead of strongly bent down after basal area and with deep medial furrow, and the apical appendages of the ninth tergite arise from lateral bumps instead of from the area on both sides of a medial furrow ( Fig. 37K View FIGURE 37 ). The male subgenital plate does not project between bases of styli ( Fig. 37J View FIGURE 37 ). The female is unique for the shape of the rather narrow seventh abdominal sternite that has a constriction in midline and a large pit on the anterior side on both sides of the apical widening ( Figs. 37 View FIGURE 37 E–G).

Etymology. The name of the new genus refers to the narrow wings. It is built from the Latin prefix angusto, angustus (narrow) and the stem Gryllacris .
