Type locality. Austria (“Habitat in Austria Mus. Dom. Schieffermyller”).
Material examined. None.
Identity. Spilonota ocellana ( Denis and Schiffermüller, 1775) ( Olethreutinae , Eucosmini ).
Remarks. Although described in synonymy with Tortrix ocellana Denis and Schiffermüler, 1775 (referred as Pyralis ocellana ), this name was perhaps intended as a replacement name. This synonymy has remained stable in the literature (e.g., Brown 2005).
