Type locality. Europe (“Habitat in Europae hortis”).

Material examined. Kiel coll. 1 type.

Identity. Acleris rhombana ( Denis and Schiffermüller, 1775) ( Tortricinae , Tortricini ).

Remarks. Werneburg (1864) concluded that this species was a synonym of Tortrix ochreana Hübner, 1799 (= Epagoge grotiana Fabricius ), but most catalogues place the name as a junior synonym of A. rhombana . The examination of the type specimen confirms this assumption.
