Type locality. Not stated. Fabricius repeats the original gall habits described by Linnaeus (1758): “Habitat intra resinae glomerem exsudantem e vulnere ramorum pini”.
Material examined. Kiel coll. Only the name label ' resinella '.
Identity. Retinia resinella ( Linnaeus, 1758) ( Olethreutinae , Eucosmini ).
Remarks. This name is an unjustified emendation of Phalaena (Tinea) resinella Linnaeus, 1758 ( Karsholt and Nielsen 1976) .
