Remarks. The species was considered as member of the genus Synapion ( Alonso-Zarazaga et al. 2023) . I studied the images of this beetle on the site (http://de05.digitalasia.chubu.ac.jp/search.php?mode=search&sname= Synapion+corvinum +%28Faust%2C+ 1889%29). The specimens are characterized by smoothed humeri as species of the genus Synapion , but belong to the genus Pseudopiezotrachelus Wagner, 1907 of the tribe Piezotrachelini because a head slightly constricted behind the eyes, postocular lobes weak developed and pronotum subcylindrical.

Distribution. Japan (Honshu).
