Discussion: Equivalent to subtribe Stenodermatina of McKenna and Bell (1997). The subtribal classification used here follows Wetterer et al. (2000). The subtribe Ectophyllina may be paraphylletic (see Baker et al., 2000), but there is strong support for monophyly of the subtribe Stenodermatina from both morphology and DNA sequence data ( Baker et al., 2000; Wetterer et al. 2000).
