COMMON NAME (S): Teak moth or Hyblaeid moth.

SYNONYM(S): Hyblaea flavifasciata Hampson, 1910c ; Hyblaea flavipicta Hampson, 1910c ; Hyblaea dilatata Gaede, 1917d ; Hyblaea inferna Gaede, 1917d ; Hyblaea rosacea Gaede, 1917d .

IUCN STATUS: Not Evaluated (NE).

DISTRIBUTION: Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

LOCALITY IN ZAMBIA: Mulobezi and Sesheke, in Western Province.

LARVAL HOSTPLANT(S): two Verbenaceae species Duranta erecta L. and D. repens L. as larval foodplants for this species. SOURCES: African Moths 2019; De Prins & De Prins 2022; Hampson 1910c.
