COMMON NAME (S): Two-spotted Herpetogramma , Southern Beet Webworm Moth, Southern beet webworm. SYNONYM(S): None.
IUCN STATUS: Not Evaluated (NE).
DISTRIBUTION: Cameroon, Comoros, Costa Rica, Cuba, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ecuador (Galápagos (Galápagos Islands )), Ethiopia, Georgia, Hispaniola, Honduras, Jamaica, Kenya, Niger, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Réunion, Seychelles,
Togo, Uganda, Zambia.
LOCALITY IN ZAMBIA: Mumbwa, in Central Province; Lusaka and Kafue, in Lusaka Province. LARVAL HOSTPLANT(S): One host plant, an Amaranthaceae species namely Telanthera versicolor Regel is reported in the Democratic Republic of Congo, while another Amaranthaceae species ( Achyranthes aspera L.) is the host of the taxon in the Seychelles. No specific host plant for the taxon has been reported for Zambia
The following are larval foodplants of the taxon: Three Amaranthaceae species ( Telanthera versicolor
Regel, Amaranthus sp. and Beta sp. ), one Brassicaceae species ( Brassica sp. ), two Solanaceae species
( Capsicum sp. and Solanum sp. ), one Fabaceae species ( Glycine max (L.) Merr. [soybean or soyabean]),
one Malvaceae species ( Gossypium sp. ) and one Poaceae species ( Zea mays L. [Maize or corn]).
