COMMON NAME (S): Grass moth or Crambid Snout Moth.
SYNONYM(S): Aripana frenulalis Strand, 1918c ; Conchylodes corycialis Snellen, 1880b ; Spilomela caberalis Guenée, 1854 ; Zebronia abdicalis Walker, 1859b ; Conchylodes privalis Snellen, 1901 .
IUCN STATUS: Not Evaluated (NE).
DISTRIBUTION: Australia (Queensland), Democratic Republic of Congo, Hong Kong, India, Kenya, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mozambique, Russia, Sierra Leone, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
LOCALITY IN ZAMBIA: Chililabombwe, in Copperbelt Province ; Lusaka , in Lusaka Province; Solwezi, in Northwestern Province ).
LARVAL HOSTPLANT(S): Host plants include: one yet to be identified Lamiaceae species (among Coleus spp. ) in the Democratic Republic of Congo; and five Lamiaceae species ( Salvia coccinea Buc’hoz ex Etl., Plectranthus scutellarioides (L.) R.Br., P. parviflorus Willd. , Ocimum tenuiflorum L. and Vitex sp. ) and one Primulaceae species ( Embelia tsjeriam-cottam (Roem. & Schult.) A.DC. ) in an unnamed African country or countries. The African Moths (2019) webpage lists one Primulaceae species ( Embelia robusta Roxb. ) and five Lamiaceae species ( Ocimum sanctum L., Plectranthus scutellarioides (L.) R.Br., Vitex altissima L.f., V. negundo L. and V. pinnata L.) as larval foodplants of the taxon.
