DISTRIBUTION: Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Republic of Congo, Saint Helena , Ascension and Tristan da Cunha, Sao Tome & Principe,
Saudi Arabia, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Yemen, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
LOCALITY IN ZAMBIA: ‘Lusaka’, in Lusaka Province. LARVAL HOSTPLANT(S): A Commelinaceae plant species namely, Commelina diffusa Burm.f. and a yet to be identified Fabaceae plant species namely, Desmodium sp. , are host plants of the taxon in the Seychelles ( Lawrence 2005),
while a Commelinaceae plant species yet to be identified i.e. Commelina sp. in a host plant in unnamed
African country or countries ( Robinson & Kirke 1990). No specific host plants of the taxon have been reorted for Zambia.
