COMMON NAME (S): Hypenine moth. SYNONYM(S): Hypena strigatalis Saalm View in CoL ̧ller, 1880. IUCN STATUS: Not Evaluated (NE). DISTRIBUTION: Angola, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cabo Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Republic of Congo, Réunion, Sao Tome & Principe, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Yemen, Zambia, Zimbabwe. LOCALITY IN ZAMBIA: Kabwe, in Central Province; Lusaka, in Lusaka Province. LARVAL HOSTPLANT(S): The leguminous plant species ( Fabaceae View in CoL ), Desmodium intortum View in CoL is a host plant of the taxon in the Réunion ( Martiré & Rochat 2008), while another Fabaceae View in CoL species, Desmodium ramosissimum View in CoL is the host plant of the taxon in Madagascar ( Bippus 2018). In addition to this, a yet to be identified, Pouzolzia sp. (Urticaceae) and Rhu s sp. ( Anacardiaceae View in CoL ) are also larval foodplats of the taxon.
