COMMON NAME (S): Figtree moth or Fig Tree Moth.
SYNONYM(S): Woerdenia weyenberghi Snellen, 1872 ; Dasychira mabilli Rochebrune, 1884 .
IUCN STATUS: Not Evaluated (NE).
DISTRIBUTION: Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Kenya, Malawi, Mali, Mozambique, Namibia , Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Yemen, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
LOCALITY IN ZAMBIA: ‘Lusaka’, in Lusaka Province.
LARVAL HOSTPLANT(S): Ficus carica L. ( Moraceae ) is a host plant of the taxon in South Africa ( Prinsloo & Uys 2015), while another Moraceae yet to be identified namely, Ficus sp. is the host in unnamed African country or countries ( Mabille 1884a). Three Moraceae species Ficus thonningii Blume , F. sur Forssk. and F. natalensis Hochst. are reported by the African Moths (2019) webpage, as larval foodplants of the taxon.
