COMMON NAME (S): Tussock moth SYNONYM(S): Zarfa lunifera Walker, 1869b ; Cnethocampa cadica Pl ̂tz, 1880. IUCN STATUS: Not Evaluated (NE). DISTRIBUTION: Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ghana, Mozambique, Nigeria,
Republic of Congo, Réunion, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Yemen, Zambia.
LOCALITY IN ZAMBIA: East Luangwa district , in Eastern Province ; Lusaka , in Lusaka Province; Mwinilunga, in Northwestern
Province.
LARVAL HOSTPLANT(S): A yet to be identified Ficus sp. (Moraceae) is a host plant of the taxon. Cajanus cajan (L.) Millsp.
( Fabaceae ), two Moraceae species (i.e. Ficus thonningii Blume and F. saussureana DC. ) and one
Malvaceae species yet to be identified i.e. Gossypium sp. are reported as larval foodplants of the taxon
( African Moths 2019).
