COMMON NAME (S): Owlet Moth, Underwing or Noctuid moth.
SYNONYM(S): Cirphis metalampra Hampson, 1918a ; Leucania palaearctica Boursin & Rungs, 1952 ; Leucania panaethiopica Boursin & Rungs, 1952 .
IUCN STATUS: Not Evaluated (NE).
DISTRIBUTION: Cabo Verde, Democratic Republic of Congo, Gambia, Ghana, Greece, Madagascar, Mauritania, Morocco, Mozambique, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Spain, Sudan, Togo, Uganda, Yemen, Zambia.
LOCALITY IN ZAMBIA: ‘Lusaka’, in Lusaka Province.
LARVAL HOSTPLANT(S): Larval foodplants include sugarcane, Saccharum officinarum (Poaceae) in Morocco and rice, Oryza sativa (Poaceae) elsewhere in an unnamedcountry in Africa . No host plants of the taxon are known in Zambia.
