Craniophora simillima Draudt, 1950 View in CoL

( Figs. 13 View FIGURES 11–16 , 20 View FIGURES 17–20 , 23 View FIGURES 21–24 , 28 View FIGURES 24–30 )

Craniophora simillima Draudt, 1950 View in CoL , Mitteilungen der Münchener Entomologischen Gesellschaft, 40(1): 7, Pl. I: 23; genit.: Pl. X: 2. Type material reported: "A-tun-tse, 29. VI. 1936 in grosser Zahl".

Material examined. Lectotype. Male lectotype (designated here to promote stability of the name, preserved in ZFMK) labeled as " Holotype ", male, (part of abdomen missing) "A-tun-tse (Nord Yunnan) Mittle Hohe (ca. 4000m) 29. vi 1936 (H. Höne) / Holotype Craniophora simillima Draudt , male " . Paralectotype: male [!], labelled as " Allotype ", "A-tun-tse (Nord Yunnan) Talsohle (ca. 3600m). 13. vii 1936 H. Höne. Allotype craniophora simillima Draudt , female". [male!]. Non type material: 25 males, 6 females, same locality, 3500, 4000 m, 13, 14, 19, 21, 22, 23, 26. vi, 7, 10, 14, 13, 15, 18, 22. vii, 11, 18. viii 1936 .

Diagnosis. Externally ( Figs. 13 View FIGURES 11–16 , 20 View FIGURES 17–20 ) the species is similar and hardly distinguishable from C. tapaishana and very close to C. pacifica Filipjev, 1927 . In series it differs by somewhat darker and purely grey forewing. Hindwings are more brownish grey, than in C. tapaishana , in the female brown. In male genitalia ( Fig. 23 View FIGURES 21–24 ) it differs from C. tapaishana by somewhat smaller size of armature and structure of vesica, which is about half the length on the one in C. tapaishana , is curved ventrally and somewhat extended apically. The arch of vesica armed with patch of small spine-like cornuti, which are stronger than in C. tapaishana ; apical part of vesica with small setae-like cornuti. Female genitalia( Fig. 28 View FIGURES 24–30 ) similar to those of C. tapaishana , but ductus bursae arched in anterior part, knee-like bent at about half of length and arched again in joining with corpus bursae.

Distribution. ( Fig. 32 View FIGURES 31–32 ) China (Shaanxi, Yunnan).
