Type Locality: Bolivia, Beni, "La Granja, W bank of Río Itonamas, 4 k N Magdalena." .
Vernacular Names: Pygmy Short-tailed Opossum.
Distribution: Known from only four localities, two in Bolivia and two in Brazil.
Conservation: IUCN – Endangered.
Discussion: See Anderson (1982, Mammalian Species, 190). To be expected in N Argentina.
