Vernacular Names: Robust Tuco-tuco.

Distribution: East of the mountains to 3,000 m in Tucumán Prov. (NW Argentina).

Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).

Discussion: Karyotype has 2n=58-61 and FN=80.
