Figs 43–55 View FIGURES 43 – 55
Cytaea haematica Simon, 1902: 393 View in CoL (male holotype from Palabuan, Lombok, Fruhstorfer, MNHN 20340, examined); World Spider Catalog 2015.
C. whytei Prószyński & Deeleman-Reinhold, 2010 View in CoL (male holotype and female paratype from Samokat, Sumbawa Besar, secondary forest, 1–9 January 1990, S. Djojosudharmo leg., CDML, examined); World Spider Catalog 2015, new synonymy.
Note: Synonymy proposed on the basis of detailed study of type material ( Figs 43–55 View FIGURES 43 – 55 ).
Diagnosis. Similar to C. taveuniensis Patoleta & Gardzińska, 2010 for having a protuberance on embolic base, but differs from the latter in the smaller size of the protuberance, tegulum relatively slender and longer embolus coiled in more than one circle ( Figs 49, 55 View FIGURES 43 – 55 ).
Redescription. Male (holotype). Cephalothorax brown, covered with brown and white scales, forming two wide stripes on the sides ( Figs 43, 45, 52–53 View FIGURES 43 – 55 ), with many light reflecting scales. Eyes surroundings black. Eye field wider than long, trapezoid, its length 41% of CL. PME halfway between PLE and ALE. Fovea short, located between PLE. Abdomen elongate, pale, covered with sparse brown hairs and numerous iridescent and brown scales ( Figs 43, 52 View FIGURES 43 – 55 ). Spinnerets pale-yellow. Clypeus light-brown, narrower (32%) than AME diameter ( Fig. 46 View FIGURES 43 – 55 ), covered with long, iridescent scales. Chelicerae vertical, light-brown, elongated, with papillate anterior surface, covered with sparse iridescent scales ( Fig. 46 View FIGURES 43 – 55 ). Sternum longer than wide, pale ( Fig. 44 View FIGURES 43 – 55 ). Venter pale, with darker patch at the posterior part. Pedipalps light-brown ( Figs 48–51, 54–55 View FIGURES 43 – 55 ), femur with 1-1-1 dorsal spines, tibia with numerous iridescent scales. Embolus coiled, making one and a half revolutions. RTA of medium length, hooked apically, with distal notch ( Figs 48, 50–51, 54 View FIGURES 43 – 55 ). Legs I brown, coxae–patellae ventrally slightly lighter; spination: fI: dorsal 1-1-4; pI: prolateral 1, retrolateral 1; tI: dorsal 1-1, prolateral 1-1, retrolateral 1- 1, ventral 2-2-2; mI: prolateral 1-1, retrolateral 1-1, ventral 2-2. Other legs light brown, lighter ventrally, with numerous spines. Leg formula: I-III-II-IV. Dimensions. CL 2.58, CW 1.91, CH 1.43, AL 2.31, AW 1.30, EFL 1.07, AEW 1.92, PEW 1.54, leg I: 7.01 (1.93 + 1.08 + 1.83 + 1.56 + 0.61), leg II: 5.66 (1.74 + 0.88 + 1.26 + 1.26 + 0.52), leg III: 5.91 (1.97 + 0.86 + 1.04 + 1.53 + 0.51), leg IV: 5.53 (1.70 + 0.67 + 1.18 + 1.50 + 0.48).
Female. See Prószyński & Deeleman-Reinhold (2010, as C. whytei ). Here we present only the figure of general appearance to complete the documentation ( Fig. 53 View FIGURES 43 – 55 ).
