Phyllodrepa punctiventris is easily distinguished from other species in eastern North America by the entirely pale body. In the case of teneral specimens, it can be recognized by the pronotum with microsculpture of transverse waves across the entire disc, elytra without scratch-like sculpture between the punctures and elytral punctures in clear longitudinal rows. The parameres of the aedeagus are also distinctive (Fig. 3 View Figures 3, 4 ). Little has been published about the species’ microhabitat preferences, but it may live in bird nests or tree-holes, as one of the Quebec specimens was collected in a canopy trap and one specimen from Washington DC (CNC) was collected from an oak tree-hole. We are not aware of previously published specimen data for Ontario, so the data are provided below.
