Type material of Diponeura bukolana examined. Holotype ♁ (coll. no. Da2), CHINA: Hainan Island, Danzhou, Danzhou Agricultural Station , 4.IV.2011, leg. A. T. Barrion et al .; Paratype: 1 ♁ (coll. no. Da3), same data as holotype.

Description and diagnosis. See Zhu (1998) for a redescription and diagnosis of both sexes.

Distribution. China (Guangxi, Yunnan and Hainan), Sierra Leone and Laos.

Comments. The type material of D. bukolana was examined and no differences could be found between the males of D. cyclosoides and D. bukolana . Thus, we consider D. bukolana syn. nov. to be a junior synonym of D. cyclosoides .
