Type material of Octonoba xihua (examined). Holotype ♁ (coll. no. Dac 2011-2), CHINA: Hainan Island, Dacheng , Xihua Village , 6.IV.2011, leg. A. T. Barrion et al.
Description and diagnosis. See Mu et al. (2016) for a redescription of the female, a description of the male, and a diagnosis of both sexes.
Distribution. China (Yunnan and Hainan).
Comments. The male holotype of O. xihua was studied and found to be consistent with the male of M. subspinigera , so we consider O. xihua syn. nov. to be a junior synonym of M. subspinigera .
