One paratype is deposited in NMPC (ex coll. L. Hromádka):

PARATYPE (♂, dissected genitalia mounted on a separate plastic card): ‘Hiraoka / (Osaka) [p] // 4 IV [hw] 52 / K.Sawada [p] // coll. / Hromádka [p] // PARATYPUS / STENUS (Hypostenus) / hanami sp. n. ♂ / Hromádka,det. 1979. [p, pink label]’.

Current status. Valid species, see SCHÜLKE & SMETANA (2015).

Comments. Although the paratype specimen is mentioned as a female in the original description, in fact, it is a male.
