28. Notylia gracilispica Schlechter (1922: 76) View in CoL .
Type:— PANAMA. Panama: Panama, s.d., C. W. Powell 185 ( B destroyed). Neotype (designated here):— PANAMA: Barro Colorado Island, 13 March 1987, J. K. Zimmerman 1 ( PMA 33059 View Materials !).
Notes: — Schlechter (1922) described N. gracilispica based on the sample Powell 185, but without informing the herbarium where the deposit occurred, though it is known that he preferred the collection at B. It is believed that the type specimen of N. gracilispica was destroyed during World War II (Butzin 1978, 1980). The species is known only from the type specimen and an illustration, which is not original, and which is deposited in the collection of AMES 26829. The sample PMA 33059 comes from a collection ca. 50 km away from the type locality informed in the protologue; therefore, it is designated here as a neotype.
