Type:— BRAZIL. Amazonas: Japeri [“Yauapery”] River, June, J. Barbosa Rodrigues s.n. ( J. Barbosa Rodrigues personal herbarium destroyed). (lectotype, designated here: original illustration which was to be published in Iconographie des Orchidées du Brésil t. 854, deposited at the library of the Instituto de Pesquisas Jardim Botânico do Rio de Janeiro, bound in volume 4, and later published in the book of the same title by Barbosa Rodrigues 1996: 431, t. 303, Figure D!).
Notes: —Barbosa Rodrigues (1881) had a private collection where he kept all his type specimens; however, the whereabouts of these materials are unknown (Sprunger et al. 1996). Therefore, an illustration of the original sample, which was made by Barbosa Rodrigues, is designated here as a lectotype.
