Diagnosis. Palpus dark brownish yellow. All coxae blackish. All femora (except apex) blackish. Cercus with finger-like outer process weakly curved and somewhat acute apically. Hypandrium longer than wide with indistinct apical incision.
Description. Male. Body length 1.7 mm, wing length 2.5 mm.
Head metallic green with pale gray pollen. Ocellar tubercle weak, with 2 very long oc and 2 very short posterior hairs. Antenna ( Fig. 14 View FIGURES 14 – 16 ) black; pedicel with circlet of black apical hairs; first flagellomere rather short, 0.7x as long as wide; arista dorsal, black, with very short pubescence. Proboscis dark brown, with brown hairs; palpus dark brownish yellow, with brown hairs and 2 brown apical bristles.
Thorax metallic green with pale gray pollen. Hairs and bristles on thorax yellow; 5 strong dc, 5–6 irregularly paired acr short and hair-like; scutellum with 2 pairs of bristles, outer pair about 0.25x as long as inner pair. Propleuron with 1 yellowish bristle on lower portion. Legs yellow; coxae, trochanters and femora (except apex) blackish; tarsi from tip of tarsomere 1 onward brown to dark brown. Hairs and bristles on legs black; coxae with yellow hairs and bristles; coxa I with 3–4 long bristles. Femora II and III each with 1 av at apex. Tibia I without distinct bristles, apically with 2 short bristles; tibia II with 2 ad and 2 pd, apically with 3 bristles; tibia III with 2 ad and 2 pd, apically with 3 bristles. Relative lengths of tibia and 5 tarsomeres of legs LI 1.4: 0.75: 0.4: 0.2: 0.15: 0.2; LII 1.65: 0.9: 0.4: 0.3: 0.2: 0.25; LIII 1.9: 0.75: 0.55: 0.3: 0.25: 0.25. Wing hyaline; veins brown, R4+5 and M parallel apically; CuAx ratio 0.2. Squama brown with yellow hairs. Halter yellow.
Abdomen metallic green with pale gray pollen. Hairs and bristles on abdomen mostly black; tergum 1 with pale hairs and bristles. Male genitalia ( Figs. 15–16 View FIGURES 14 – 16 ): epandrium distinctly longer than wide, with 1 lateral bristle apically; surstylus not distinctly separated from epandrium, short and thick with nearly acute apex; cercus finger-like, with finger-like outer process weakly curved and somewhat acute apically; hypandrium longer than wide with indistinct apical incision.
Female. Unknown.
Type material. Holotype. male, Nepal: Topke Gola (3700 m) - Thurupka (2600 m), 9. vii. 1972, J. Emoto.
Distribution. Nepal.
Etymology. The specific name refers to the type locality Nepal.
Remarks. This new species is somewhat similar to Chrysotimus furcatus sp. nov. in having the dark coxae, but may be separated from the latter by the dark brownish yellow palpus and hypandrium not furcated.
