PARADORIS BERGH, 1884 View in CoL

Under the ICZN, Paradoris is a taxon of genus level. Type species: Paradoris granulata Bergh, 1884 , by monotypy. For the diagnosis of Paradoris , see above.

In the present contribution, however, I refer to Paradoris simply as a clade name, without assigning it to any particular rank. Under the PhyloCode, Paradoris is a converted clade name: it remains an informal clade name until it is phylogenetically defined and formally registered. Paradoris could be phylogenetically defined through an apomorphy-based definition as ‘the clade stemming from the first organism or species to possess a narrow, elongated radula as inherited by indecora Bergh, 1881 ’.
