Rhopalopsole longispina Yang & Yang, 1991 . Journal of Zhejiang Forestry College, 8: 78. Type locality: Mt. Tianmushan, Zhejiang Province.
Rhopalopsole longispina Yang & Yang, 1991 : Sivec et al. 2008. Scopolia, 64: 22.
Material examined. Type series: 8 males and 3 females, Zhejiang Province, Mt. Tianmushan, 119.4481 E, 30.3124 N, 1980. V.4, ChiKun Yang; additional material: 3 males and 2 females, Mt. Tianmushan, 119.4481 E, 30.3124 N, 2011. IV.25–26, Yajun Zhu. 1 male, Guangdong, Nanling National Nature Reserve, 113.0160 E, 24.9245 N, 2003. VIII.16, Yanling Xu.
Supplement description. Male. Forewing length 5.8–6.4 mm, hindwing length 4.8–5.2 mm. Two submedial fields typical of the group at mid–posterior margin of tergum 9. Lateral projections of tergum 10 with a hook–like pointed tip. Central plate of tergum 10 with small spines. Subanal lobe with lateral margins forming a pair of parallel–sided to triangular sclerites. Epiproct with apex abruptly attenuate and pointed.
Female. (Figs. 36, 43–44) Forewing length 5.8–6.6 mm, hindwing length 5.0–5.6 mm. Subgenital plate posteriorly produced into a triangular lobe with a membranous apical notch medially. Sternum 8 with two submedial triangular sclerites, medial area membranous. Sternum 9 with rounded protrusion at anterior margin.
Distribution. China (Zhejiang, Guangdong).
Remarks. Rhopalopsole longispina was tentatively placed in the R. magnicerca group based on the shape of its subanal lobe (Sivec et al 2008). The new data show that features of the male epiproct, submedial bands of tergum 9 and lateral projections and terminalia of females also support this assignment.
