Type host: Dryocopus galeatus (Temminck) ( Piciformes : Picidae ). Type locality: Paraguay.
Host range and distribution. Mesostenoxenous species associated with the woodpeckers ( Piciformes : Picidae ): Dryocopus galeatus (Temminck) from Paraguay, Piculus rubiginosus (Swainson) from Panama ( Skoracki et al. 2014b), Dendropicos griseocephalus (Boddaert) from Tanzania and D. goertae (Muller) from Kenya ( Klimovicova et al. 2014).
