Type species: Pseudopicobia nonnula Skoracki, Scibek and Sikora, 2012 View in CoL , by original designation.

Diagnosis. FEMALE. Hypostomal apex rounded. Peritremes M-shaped. Setae vi situated posterior to level of setae ve. Propodonotal shield divided into 2 longitudinal sclerites, bearing bases of setae ve, si and se. Opisthonotal and genital lobes absent. Bases of setae 1a coalesced. Pseudanal series represented by 2 pairs of setae. Genital setae absent. Apodemes I with thorn-like protuberances. Legs with full complement of solenidia. Antaxial and paraxial claws of legs III and IV unequal in size and shape. Physogastric form with distinctly enlarged idiosoma , wormshaped in outline.

MALE. Features as in females except: each pseudanal and genital setal series represented by 2 pairs.

Species included. Three species: Psudopicobia nonnula Skoracki et al., 2012 ; P. malacoptila Skoracki et al., 2012 , and P. hapaloptila Skoracki et al., 2012 .

Host range. Galbuliformes (Bucconidae) .

Distribution. Neotropical region ( Colombia, Ecuador).
