Daunothrips striatus sp.n.

Female macroptera ( Figs 8, 10 View FIGURES 2–10 ). Body pale with light brown marking medially on tergites III–VIII; pronotum, femora, tibiae and tarsi pale; antennal segment I pale, II–VIII uniformly shaded ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 2–10 ), fore wings pale; abdominal tergites II–VIII antecostal ridges dark brown complete across segment; sternites IV–VII pale. Antennae with sense cones on III and IV short, not reaching more than one-third the length of succeeding segment. Head about 1.7x wider than long, postocular and ocellar region closely striate. Pronotum about 1.8x wider than long, with closely spaced striae with tiny internal markings, 4 pairs of posteromarginal setae, second pair longer; Metanotum transversely reticulate anteriorly, longitudinal reticulation posteriorly and irregular striation laterally. Fore wing first vein with 4+3 setae on basal half, 1+1+1 on distal half. Abdominal tergites without rows of microtrichia anteromedially ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 2–10 ).
Measurements (holotype female in microns). Distended body length 940. Head width across eyes 144. Pronotum, length 90, width 170; posteromarginal setae length I(24), II(46), III(30). Metanotum median setae 28, submedian setae 24. Fore wing, length 560; setae length on first vein 7–11. Antennae segments III–VIII length 37, 39, 31, 40, 7, 10. Tergites IV–VII setae S1 length 18–28.
Male (unknown).
Specimens studied. Holotype female: MALAYSIA, Pasoh Research Station, Negeri Sembilan, Yellow Pan Trap at Canopy Tower , 2.viii.2019 (Ain N. & Ng, Y.F.) (in CISUKM) . Paratypes: 3 females, 2 collected with holotype, one collected on 23.ix.2019 (Ain N. & Ng, Y.F.) (in CISUKM and ANIC)
