Misidentified Type species, Originally named type was Epistrophe remigis Fluke View in CoL , but Fluke (1951) noted that the specimen used by Hull was mislabelled by him and was actually altissima Fluke. Hence View in CoL , under Article 70.3 of the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature (ICZN 1999), Mengual et al. 2009 fixed the Type species, of Metepistrophe Hull to the taxonomical species, altissima Fluke.
