Fabricius listed the name Coccus crataegi with the same references that Linnaeus (1767: 742) gave for Coccus oxyacanthae Linnaeus , as discussed by Williams (2007). Current status: Coccus crataegi is an unjustified replacement name for Coccus oxyacanthae , now Pulvinaria vitis (Linnaeus) .
