Vallot discussed this species as living on the leaves and branches of box [buis] and gave a short account of its habit at a meeting of l'Académie des Arts et Belles Lettres de Dijon. Current status: a junior synonym of Lepidosaphes ulmi (Linnaeus) (Family Diaspididae ).
